Bidaai Web Series: Cast, Crew, Story and OTT Platform

Every story doesn’t start with happiness and love. Some start with fear, humiliation and a problem that is unable to be resolved. Bidaai is an extremely familiar setting–marrying in a rural family–and gradually transforms it into something tense and tense. It initially feels like the typical village drama. A newlywed couple as well as family expectations and pressure from social media. However, in a short time the world changes.

The drama builds tension around a single claim. A single accusation that gets more attention than the truth and causes the destruction of lives. What is so alarming about it is not only the issue and how the society reacts. In small communities there is a lot of trust in reputation. A single rumor can determine an individual’s identity. This is why Bidaai employs that concept to tell a story that is real as well as emotionally high. It doesn’t hurry. It lets tension build slowly, making each scenario more complex than the one before.

It’s a Hindi-language drama series, which is one of the Charmsukh series that is known for its dramatic and short-form storytelling.

Story

The story starts in Genda and Chameli who are a newlywed couple.

Their marriage, however, isn’t as smooth as they had hoped.

Chameli refuses to return to her husband’s home following the wedding. Instead she makes an eerie claim that Genda isn’t a good choice as a husband. The statement quickly spreads across the community, and eventually becomes an outrage to the community.

Everything changes at that point.

Genda’s popularity is ruined overnight. People begin to criticize Genda. Whispering. He was unsure of his manhood.

In order to resolve the situation the village panchayat comes into the picture.

They require evidence.

Genda is required to take an examination to prove his worth. For the time being, he resides at his in-laws’ home in anticipation of the test results which will determine his worthiness.

The story, however, isn’t simple.

As time goes by the situation gets complex:

Females in households begin taking an interest that is unusual in Genda
The boundaries of emotions begin to become blurred
Curiosity is transformed into something deeper

But, Chameli remains firm in her determination. She isn’t willing to accept him despite the pressure building around her.

Instead of a fast-paced story, the plot is a gradual progression of events. Each episode is a source of tension and reveals how the impact of one decision can have on many lives.
